  2. It’s sad that people have lost sight of proper weight loss. Fad diets have become all too common, and while they may yield short-term benefits, these benefits usually do not last. Not to mention, the followers of these fad diets usually do not teach the principles of nutrition, leaving them clueless as to how they can maintain good health and a good physique. Toss out the crash diets and set yourself up for a “lifestyle change.”

  5. Most fad diets work in the short run but almost never in the long run. We spend years gaining weight and expect to lose it in a few weeks. This is highly unlikely and not the proper approach. We need to think long term and a healthy proper plan with a support system.

    These crash diets/fad diets fall in line with trends in society. Fast food, less down time, especially in big cities condition people to get things when they want it. Think about it, even while I was in college. People are always looking for easier ways, short cuts if you will. Individuals tend to approach their health and fitness with the same mindset.
